Review: Sistar19- Gone Not Around Any Longer

*FAPFAPFAPFAP* Ahem. Oh look they're using a table to wipe their asses!

Gone are the days of Sistar's obvious butt-in-yo-face dance moves and after the release of "Alone" they finally worked out how to be sensual and classy whilst gyrating their hips on my screen.
Almost two years after the release of "Ma Boy" which was amaaazing. I was left waiting for the day Hyorin and Bora to come back.

Sistar19 has captured the concept of "sexy" in my view, it was like Ga-In's "Bloom". Whilst being sexy, the video as a whole reflects the lyrics really well. The song differs from what was on the teaser, it is slower and the dubstep is replaced by a saxophone and a piano. I also liked how they used a clear table and moved on from the chairs they used in "Ma Boy" maybe next time they'll use a bench or a sofa or something. Hell they can use my bed, I gladly volunteer.

I do hope there's a dubstep version of the song available for download. The comeback stage is amazing for this song, Hyorin is an amazing vocalist and Bora was working that camera for all it's worth. I know a few people are complaining about the lack of Bora in the song but she definitely made her presence known by just flaunting her beautiful face and rapping like that *shivers*

They are so beautiful I just can't-

This explains how I feel when I get home, it also explains how I first felt when I heard this song:
*rolls around in sexual frustration*

Here's the first comeback stage for this beautiful song. Love these girls~

January Playlist

Hello people! Lets welcome the new year with my January playlist! Here's what I've been listening to non-stop this month~

Adorn- Miguel
I don't think this will come off my daily commute playlist just yet. This song is the sex. Actually, Miguel's album is THE SEX. Just listen and close your eyes...and then you'll eventually feel horny, if you watch the video then it just feels weird. I mean come on, there's cheerleaders and a girl with a pair of net tights on her head. If you can look past that, you should just download the whole album: "Kaleidoscope Dream"

Luxury- Azealia Banks
Azalea, Azealia, Azelia however the fuck you spell her name is one of my fashion legends right from her mermaid weave to her heart tattoo, I can listen to this woman endlessly whilst I do my work. Her mixtape "Fantasea" has been on non-stop since last year. You may have seen her on a recent ASOS campaign. Ugh, she's so fucking cool.

When I Was Your Man- Bruno Mars
My favourite song from "Unorthodox Jukebox" has got to be this one. The first time I heard it I did feel tears surfacing but for all the guys out there just remember this song if you've got someone that is special to you, because you want them to have the best time with you for as long as possible.

YOLO- The Lonely Island
lolololololololol Don't hate. If only there was more Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar on this song because they just looked really kawaii in the video. My Lonely Island collection will never stop growing. NEVER.

Angels- The xx
Whilst most youtube comments are about how this song is a perfect song to have sex to or how it reminds them of someone special, am I the only person who listens to the xx during a bubble bath? I don't think I'm weird for doing that, don't judge. The xx add a nice relaxing atmosphere to my bath times, actually the whole album Coexist does that - let me move away from talk of my bath time habits.

Tried to Walk- B1A4
I can't have a playlist without some K-Pop in it, come on, an absence of K-Pop is just unheard of. The music video is so pretty (except for some fashion choices- lets not talk about it) and the song perfectly fits in with the cold weather that we've been having lately, which is weird because spring is just around the corner- I hope. I also like how B1A4 have matured from their aegyo filled debut single to now, which is still sort of cutesy but doesn't give you diabetes.

Review: Jaejoong- Mine

WOAH THERE JAEJOONG.

Is there anyone else who thought this song could totally be an anime theme tune?
I'm not a huge fan of the song, nor the music video, I just like the fact that Jaejoong put the J-rock element into K-Pop and I appreciated some of the pretty badass scenes.

The song isn't extremely amazing, the chorus is fantastic, I just felt put off by the song because for me it just didn't seem to flow right, I'm just grateful Jaejoong didn't start some screamo shit.
I gotta point out my favourite lyric:
나를 비춘 태양마저 가리려 하지마
Don’t try to block the sun that shines on me

Now lets talk about the video.

Is Jaejoong facing an identity crisis?
First he wants to be Bane, then a rhino, then a monster from a Lady Gaga music video, then a blue-haired vampire and finally a fallen angel.
If he dressed up as Bane to anime expo he'll probably beat all the euro cosplayers just because he's the best looking Bane I've laid my eyes on.

To me, this  video is just a Jaejoong-fest just so we can look at how pretty he is. I think he's really pretty, I slight hate him for how pretty he is..

We need sexy back.

2013 IS THE YEAR BABY.

So after a decade Destiny's Child is back. The video above is their new song "Nuclear" which will be performed at the Superbowl half time show. My thoughts? I'm slightly dissapointed. I thought they would bring the fab factor and make me feel like dancin', I just don't feel that its the right song for a comeback. After a decade I thought this would be the mother of all comebacks.

In other news, Justin Timberlake is gearing up for his comeback. I hope he doesn't dissappoint, I've been waiting for ages. I mean his last album was released in 2006, whilst the video below was made two years ago, this video just expresses how I feel. I NEED SEXY BACK.

And then there was this.

OH BABY. THE WAY I'LL PRE-ORDER THE HELL OUT OF THAT ALBUM.

So whilst I'm waiting, I'll just keep listening to Miguel's album "Kaleidoscope Dream"

Review: Infinite H- Special Girl

HOW CUTE WAS THAT?!

I have to admit I had low expectations from this sub-unit consisting of Hoya and Dongwoo from Infinite. But then again, sub units have always impressed me such as Sistar19 and GD&TOP.

I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up this morning to see this, after viewing it around a few times I just had to download it before I jumped on the bus for my Textiles exam.

One thing I don't understand is the little bit at the end where the guys are hugging air. I mean come on, just because your crush is a bit OTT, that doesn't mean you should hug air because you feel lonely.  I also have to nitpick at their styling, especially the noona who styled Dongwoo.

Let's take a look shall we.
Why did coordi noona give him such weird trousers? Especially the fish scale effect pants that shine in all kinds of light. No. Why did coordi noona give him such ill fitting shirts and shawls and jackets? Stop that.
WHY THE HELL DID COORDI NOONA PUT SOME KIND OF MONSTER AROUND DONGWOO'S NECK?!

That shit ain't kawaii.

However this is just perfect:
Boys listen up, ill fitting suits piss girls off, so always buy a killer suit.

Now let's talk about the female lead, is it just me that thinks she could pull off being Ricky from Teen Top's sister?
Just me? Oh.

To summarise, a wonderful surprise from Hoya and Dongwoo. Cute, fun and now on constant replay. Well done boys.

On a last note, here's my favourite dance move for this mv.

Review: Life of Pi- Do bananas float?

The answer to that question is yes. Bananas do float.

Warning: For anyone that has not seen the movie or read the book and are not a fan of spoilers, go away.

Despite enjoying the stunning visuals and a wonderful cast (yes, even Gerard Depardieu's cameo, thank you for the slight French revision) I left the cinema underwhelmed. It could've been because I paid £13.15 to watch it and expected a huge spectacle but then again, Pi is in a boat in the middle of nowhere. Or it could've been the ambiguous ending that sparked a lot of conversation as me and my friends slowly walked out of the screening.

In the film an older Pi reminisces on his 227 days shipwrecked to a writer who is looking for a story, one story that is said to make him (and us) believe in God. I liked how this is done in the film and I wish I read the book before having watched this film, however if I did read the book as well as watch the film...my belief and faith in God would still be at its current state. Which isn't much.

Even though my belief in God isn't as strong as Pi's (he follows Christianity, Hinduism and Islam because he "just wants to love God") I particularly enjoyed how the film invited me to believe everything that was happening before my eyes just before causing me to doubt everything that had just happened minutes before the closing credits. That was quite a mouthful or thoughtful...anyway, I just didn't know what to believe. But when Pi questioned the writer which story he believed, I would've said the same thing too. I believe that Pi spent endless days on a boat with a tiger. Why? Because its a cooler story, that's why.

I'm also thankful that M. Night Shyamalan didn't direct this because the attention to detail and the use of 3D was really well done by Ang Lee (I mean come on he directed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). If it was Shyamalan...we all know it wouldn't go down well, anyone remember Avatar: The Last Airbender? That was truly facepalm worthy.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone (just watch it off-peak with the 3D). It's one of those movies that you only need to watch once but it does make an impact on you so I'l give it an 8/10.

Practical Textiles Revision haha.

So on the fashion blog I co-run with my friend Rii, I recently posted my current project in which I dive into creating a jacket. It wasn't so stressful to create, as usual I'm really crap at attaching sleeves but it worked out well in the end. The pictures show the cutting stages and checking if the pieces fit together and the final product. I'm just really sad that I have to give this jacket back to Caramel Rock as it is only a prototype and proof to the council that I've done some work. Nevertheless, I love how this project turned out and cannot wait to create more garments. This is only just the beginning!

Review: Girl's Generation- I Got A Boy

This is a hot mess.

I'm actually quite torn about the song because there are some bits I love and some bits I don't. But that's the problem really...its the mixing of beats and tempos that leaves me confused. The eclectic palette of colours add to my confusion as I am left dazed by the amount of patterns that are layered on each member's body.

In simpler terms, the lack of consistency pisses me off.

The only thing I enjoyed was the fact that the girls had a new look and no sight of heels.

One scene that made me laugh was when Tiffany was eating yogurt and the guy just decides to wipe her lips..when there's no yogurt there.

Oh and for a final treat, here's my favourite screencap, courtesy of Sunny.
That's my new pedo-face.

Hello 2013!

As well as blogging on styleinfatuations.blogspot.co.uk I thought it'd be nice if I put all my k-pop fangirling and personal posts here.

Or maybe I've become a blogging addict..I don't know.

So without further ado, I hereby declare "Melissa's World" open!
